Greetings:
Let me introduce myself. My name is Ronald (Ron) Stewart. I am a 63
year old American amateur mathematical astronomer from a small town
outside Chicago.
I have long been interested in the Tunguska phenomena and little dreamed
that I would one day have the opportunity to shed light on them.
Nine years ago, I began a new analysis of lunar and planetary
configurations and have largely completed it with , I think,
remarkable results. I suspect that I may be the only person who has
revisted this seemingly "solved" area of astronomy with the advantage of
inexpensive calculators ( I normally use 4 or 5 simultaneously) and with
cheap computer processing power ( I normally work with a desktop with a
huge monitor open with 4 or more windows simultaneously with a laptop
open on either side for comparison viewing).
The most important new tool has been the remarkable on line computerized
orrery developed by one of the fathers of Cad-Cam, Mr John Walker of
Fourmilab-Switzerland. Thanks , John, I could NEVER have figured things
out without your great set of tools!
This orrery is named "SOLAR SYSTEM LIVE".No downloads are required. It
is extremely easy to use so that any reader can log on and quickly check
my assertions personally. ( I'll be happy to give tutorials in more
advanced adjustments that can be made to the software to perform more
complex analysis. For now, just two changes which MUST be made in the
control panel for maximum clarity of viewing: one: change "SHOW" from
"icons" to "images" , two: change "ORBITS" to "equal".
Now, simply change the date and press "update".
I know you will want to see the planetary situation on 30 June 1908
This is one of the most remarkable planetary alignments.
Fortunately, It recurs infrequently. (after reading the rest of the
info below, look at 1001 (11 X 13 X 7) year separations from both 1908.5
AND other dates listed below to see similar aligments , note
particualrly the 4004 year separations.)
We have long known that the sunspot cycle last approximately 11 years.
I began my re-analysis with the hypothesis that over long periods of
time the duration might smooth out to EXACTLY 11 years. I was correct.
The planets (and our moon, which is, after all merely being tugged into
position by the changing position of the planets) return to particular
relatinships over 11 year periods and 11 squared years (121, 242, 363,
484, 605 years, etc. and FRACTIONS of 11 years.
You can easily see this for yourselves. Enter the date 1894, 20 March
(equinox) into SS Live ( make two changes to software as above!)You now
see an alignment of Saturn, Venus and Mercury at 135 degrees to Jupiter.
Enter the date 1775, 20 June (solstice)and view virtually the same
Saturn, Venus and Mercury alignment at 135 degrees to Jupiter. The same
is true of 1656 20 September (equinox) and 20 december 1537 (solstice).
In the future , this pattern will recur on 20 September n(equinox)
2131AD and 20 June (solstice) 2250AD and 20 March (equinox) 2369 AD.
(This pattern of the two largest solar system planets, which together
comprise 99% of the mass of the system outside of the 18.75Sun, is the
basis of the recurrence of many Earth phenomena. The period is 118.75
years.Dividing by 100 yields 1.1875 years and this period , and
multiples , is the pattern of very large solar flares, very large
earthyquakes and very large eruptions.
Now to the point: those of you who used their calculators could easily
see that I omitted one date in this sequence. The next time that this
pattern will repeat will be the 20th of December 2012, the so-called
"End of the Mayan Calendar".
I can offer no commentary re: the Mayan connection, that is beyond my
area of expertise, except to say that their god was the incarnation of
Venus which IS involved on that date.
Not only are the planets lined up on that date, they are lined up like
beads on a string, that is to say, they are TRANSITING the Sun, almost
simultaneously. ( in 1894 the transits missed being simultaneous by a
few hours, in 2012 by more than a day, I do not have exact data for the
other transit years and would welcome input.)
Returning to Tunguska, what is the import of this new mathematical
knowledge?
The above noted Solar cycle is 11 years long. There is a remarkably
precise pattern to the movement of the moon in relation to the Earth
which repeats at 19 year intervals , with a few HOURS variation.
Thus , the combined cycle is 11 X 19 or 209 years. The separation
between 2012-12-20 (mathematically, 2013) to June 30, 1908 (1908.5)is
104.5 years or 209/2 or 1.1875 X 11 X 8.
One half of 104.5 is 52.25 years. From either 2013 or 1908.5 to
September 15, 1960 is 52.25 years. Note from SS LIve that there is once
again a remarkable alignment of planets, this time Neptune, Mars Venus
and Mercury. One week prior: Cat 5 hurricane, One week after: Cat 5
hurricane.
I know I'm running long so just a few dates for you to look up in SS
Live.
For exampes of FRACTIONS: compare 2012-12-20 to 1984-2-1 (separation
28.875 years or 231 (11 X 7 X 3)divided by 8.
Then compare 2012-12-20 to 560-12-20. That separation is 847 , 121 X 7
years and 847 divided by 8 yields 105.875 years and starting at either
end will yield a series of Saturn Venus Mercury alignments of successive
cardinal points of the year, alternating between conjunctions and
oppositions. ( in about one third of the cases, the date oscillates a
few days one side or the other of the cardinal date but is dead bang on
on the majority. ( I know everyone is not equally facile with
arithmatic, so a quick refresher:
The solstices and equinoxes are .25/.50/.75/1. The old pagan holidays
are the halfway points, .125/.375/.625/,875 corresponding to 2-1,
5-1,8-1 and 11-1. Their halfway points comprise the balance, .0625,
,1875,.3125,.4375,.5625,.6875,.8125.and .9375 corresponding to 1-9,
2-25, 4-9, 7-9. 8-25, 10-9, 11-25.
If I have not been sufficiently clear, let me know and I'll try further
explanation.
In fact, starting a 2012 go 121 year mutiples in either direction to see
a long series of related patterns.
Look particularlty at 363 and 605 year separations and multiples tereof.
Once again the patterns recur in alternating conjunction /opposition.
Even multiples in conjunction , odd in opposition.
There is an important reason that these two numbers recur so frequently
rooted in basic number theory but I will reserve tht discussion for a
later date.
Oh, I want to also point out the the moon's intricate dance ALSO follows
the 11/1l8.75 cycle. Eclipses repeat on the same date after 968 (121 X
8) solar to lunar and after a further 968 there is another solar on the
same date ( within one day).
The moon comes close (perigee) and goes far (apogee) every month but
once a year at full and once a year at new moon there is an annual
EXTREME. These can, of course , happen on ANY day. When they happen on
a solstice, for example, they will recur after either 4 or 5 multiples
of 1.1875 years.
When , say, the annual Perigee EXTREME happens on a certain date , it
will change to Apogee EXTREME on the same date after 9680 years, or 121
X 80 years.
I've left a LOT out and simplified more than I wanted, but that's
something of the gist of my work.
