This is the time for the "fall run" along Fire Island. Bluefish and
bass feed on schools of bait fish in the shallow water close to the
beach as they migrate south. Using surf poles, anglers cast lures into
the feeding frenzy.

A savvy angler rigs a teaser.

A shiny metal lure is placed at the end of the line, a good weight for
casting. Up the line about 2 or 3 feet is attached another worm-like
lure called a teaser. When casting into the frenzy, in the confusion,
it is not uncommon to catch a fish on the casting lure and another on
the teaser.
