Paul,
You know how those mt storms can gather and sneak up on you. After living
in Summit County for 7 years I recall many afternoons where it was clear and
bright and an hour or 2 later one heck of a rain storm - mostly it was
afternoon storms that I recall.
Pete is a calm cool collected guy - always has been... he takes things as
they come and deals with them. Great person! And so is brother Jim!
Regards,
Cindi

I just talked to Pete Penseyres who's team just arrived at El
Dorado KS TS28 about 5-10 minutes or so ago..His 8 person
North Coast Cycling Team (they join him from the N. Coast
church near his home in So. CA ) is feeling great and really
enjoying the trip.. The are pulling 12 hour shifts per 4
person group. They'll meet the other half - who are with Jim
Penseyres - in about 30 miles to swap riding - and get some
rest themselves.
|
I had the pleasure to talk to Pete when he came thru TS 19 in La Veta,
CO...which I was managing. Pete looked great and was really calm while
getting prep'd for his time on the bike.
| | Pete told me the weather for them was ok thru Colo. only rain
coming off Chuchara pass which meant he had to go down a bit
slower but still cranked enough to enjoy it!
|
Wow...I'm surprised they had that rain...because Cuchara pass is only 17.5
miles from the time station I was running and we didn't have any rain at the
TS. Well, it rained for almost the entire 1st 24 hours we were set up...but
that was over long before Pete and the rest of the North Coasters got to us.
