Until the BoD has it's meeting the election is not 'official'....per the
ByLaws!!
Just want to be clear on that.
Just because this is posted on the website prematurely it does not make
it official.
Technicality - maybe - right - yes.
Thank you

To those of you who voted for me, thank you. Since I was candidate and
the interim treasurer of UMCA I recused myself from any public comments
and discussion points raised by various people on this chat list. Now
that the election is certified I can now make a few comments. Tthere is
a lot of work to accomplish including but not limited to election of new
officers, strategic planning, setting objectives for the coming year(s),
looking at the constitution and by-laws and making any modifications
that may be needed, reviewing some of the concerns raised in the past
months, many of which have merit. I for one, hope to get some real work
done during my one year term on the Board with the hope that the
organization will again have respect of the ENTIRE ultracycling
community. Wasn't it Rodney king who said something like, "can't we all
try to get along"?

I just lost a one thousand dollar bet with my non cycling friend. He
predicted
that all the candidates that were promoted in the famous "Lee Mitchell"
letter
would win. At the time of the bet I laughed. It would be almost too
convenient.
He reminded me again of the Colin Powell testimony in front of the
United
Nations. My friend is 92 years young and wise to the ways of the world.
He
stated that there is little shame in politics.
I am excited for the new board and anxiously await attending the next
board
meeting. Congratulations, six for six, almost unbelievable.
I will be calling Lee Mitchell later today to see how he actually voted.
Speaking of phone calls, I was excited to read Fred's article in the
current
magazine encouraging people to call each other directly. That being
said, I am
eagerly awaiting phone calls from Nancy Guth and John Lee Ellis.
