Looks like my email was forwarded to a couple of people off this list, or
something like that ;-)

Anyway, from Aaron Krowne, via Cliff the suggestion was: "Finite difference
approximation to a standard mixing problem of differential
equations". And that makes nice sense too :-)

Although, I am sure there is a shorter word for it. A couple of years ago
I managed to find it out, but wouldn't you know it I have forgotten and
don't have it written down anywhere. It is something that is named after
someone. Starting letter that comes to mind is "L", but then again I could
be wrong there.

Anyway, finite difference approximation will be more than sufficient :-)
