Hey Alan,
This is not really a list. It is a site that you write a profile of
education, past work experience, hobbies, etc... You can belong to virtual
groups that have discussions, post and discuss news articles, etc... I was
considering a Blind Chess Enthuisiasts group, where I'd be able to post
the articles you mentioned. However, I would like to avoid duplication of
effort and I have not found many members of LinkedIn that appear to be
interested in such a beast. I will keep all on this list up to date.
Best regards,
-Mark

Thank you for your message, and an idea to promote Chess for Blind or
Visually Impaired People, and our USBCA is never as you suggested "off
topic", in fact, it is a very good topic!
Mark, I am just on so many lists now, and frankly "swamped" with messages, I
could not even think of joining another list, could you possibly post
something I send you to this list you have written about?
If you could do that, please write me and I will send you a short article
about Chess For the Blind or Visually Impaired and our USBCA, directly to
you!
Thanks Mark!
With Best Regards,

Subject: USBCA OT: Anyone on LinkedIn?
| |
Listers,
Is anyone on this list a member of LinkedIn? For those not familiar with
LinkedIn it's a professional development network, similar in fashion to
social network, but designed to provide professionals a place to network
away from the main-stream MySpace, FaceBook, etc... If anyone is
interested in checking it out the site is at http://www.linkedin.com. It
is free and has helped me in job searches, etc... However, the reason for
posting this here is that we have very little representation as blind and
visually impaired persons on there, and absolutely no representation for
the USBCA or any other BCA that I've seen. This would be a way of showing
other professionals that we exist.
Thank you for your time and sorry for the off-topic post.
Regards,
-Mark
