The website has will turn one-year old on the 24th of August and we will
have our 5000th hit on our home page sometime this week.
Happy Birthday USSMONTICELLO.COM!
I've placed a few more documents on the "History" page. Be sure to check
them out!

2: MOBOAT BALLCAPS AND POLO SHIRTS UPDATE
I have ordered new a shipment of USS Monticello ballcaps and polo
shirts. It seems that we sold out at the reunion.
UPS tells me that they will be delivered here tomorrow. It seems that
the manufacturer was overwhelmed by military orders, thus delaying ours.
=====================================
3: DECK LOG BOOK
I've added a few pages of the official deck log book to the "History"
page. They were sent to me by LTJG John Beck.
Check them out here: http://www.ussmonticello.com/decklog.htm

4: NAVAL HISTORICAL CENTER
My good friend BM3 John Huard wrote to the Naval Historical Center
asking for MoBoat histories.this is what they replied. I can't wait to
see what they sent to John.

Dear Mr. Huard.
In reply to your letter requesting MONTICELLO (LSD 35) histories, I am
enclosind a CD of the reports we hold. I have looked at your site and it
looks great. Additionally, I downloaded a copy of the decommissioning
booklet that we did not have and placed it in our records.
Command History Reports and Ship Deck Logs are the primary and only
administrative records maintained by the Naval Historical Center that
are identified for permanent retention.
Thank you for your inquiry. Please visit the Naval Historical Center's
World Wide Web site at: http://www.history.navy.mil for more on Naval
History.
Sincerely,
Ron Bryant
Archivist, Ships History Branch
Naval Warfare Division

Beamer, our website will probably have a bunch of photos on it soon
also. I will watch for it. Here is the website to find where the ships
are berthed now(or were). Will get back with you about the pictures. You
may have to copy and paste the link below. I never understand exactly
how hotmail sends this stuff.

10. SITE OF THE MONTH
It becomes very difficult when people e-mail me very large files. Even
with a broadband connection, it just isn't convenient.
Of course, getting a file on time can be critical. That's why I'm glad I
found YOUSENDIT. It's a handy way to transfer files quickly.
There is no registration required, you can begin uploading files. The
files can be up to a whopping 1 gigabite!
Simply enter the recipient's e-mail address. They'll get an e-mail with
a link for downloading the file. Since they're sent the link and not the
actual file, you won't overwhelm their inbox. The files are even scanned
for viruses.
