Only 60 days left to get those registrations in!

3: THE RODRIGUEZ FILM
Now you can view the entire Rodriguez film at our website.
I've been experimenting with Flash and now have a copy up
and running for testing. The entire film is about an hour
long. It contains some very interesting footage of Vietnam,
Hong Kong and Sydney. The most interesting part is the ship
board activities.
Be sure to check it out.

6. A REQUEST
EXCUSE ME, SORRY TO BOTHER, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF CHIEF ROBERT INS?
OR (LASTNAME: INNES, MAYBE SPELLED INNS). HE WAS IN THE PHILIPPINES
FOR SURE IN 1972. PLEASE KINDLY EMAIL ME AT ALUG-@MSN.COM.
THANK YOU.
JOCELYN SCHUSTER

7. NATIONAL ARCHIVES
I received the crews' lists from the National Archive.
The microfilm is on reels and are next to impossible
to read. I spent two days at the library using their
machine. The copies are of very poor quality so I'm
taking the time to transcribe them to an Excel document.
I hope to be finished with them by next week.
I anticipate having them on the website so that some of these
shipmates can be contacted

8. NEWS ITEM
Last Update: Monday, March 26, 2007. 3:17pm (AEST)
Second rescue attempt announced for submarine rescue vessel
The Defence Department has confirmed a second attempt will be
made to recover the country's only submarine rescue vessel,
which sunk off the Western Australian coast late last year.
The Remora sunk off Rottnest Island in December and is 130
metres underwater.
The first attempt to bring the $10 million vessel to the s
urface failed due to equipment limitations.
However a spokesman from the department has confirmed a
second rescue mission will take place in mid April if weather
conditions permit.
The cost of the recovery has not been released.

9. TRIVIA
DITTY BAG - Ditty bag (or box) was originally called ditto bag
because it contained at least two of everything: two needles,
two spools of thread, two buttons, etc. With the passing of years,
the 'ditto' was dropped in favor of ditty and remains so today.
Before WW I, the Navy issued ditty boxes made of wood and styled
after foot lockers. These carried the personal gear and some
clothes of the sailor. Today the ditty bag is still issued to
recruits and contains a sewing kit, toiletry articles and
personal items such as writing paper and pens.

12. SMILE
A newly married sailor was informed by the navy that he was going
to be stationed a long way from home on a remote island in the
Pacific for a year. A few weeks after he got there he began to
miss his new wife, so he wrote her a letter.
"My love," he wrote "we are going to be apart for a very long time.
Already I'm starting to miss you and there's really not much to do
here in the evenings. Besides that we're constantly surrounded by
young attractive native girls. Do you think if I had a hobby of
some kind I would not tempted? "
So his wife sent him back a harmonica saying, "why don't you
learn to play this?"
Eventually his tour of duty came to an end and he rushed back
to his wife. "Darling" he said, "I can't wait to get you into
bed so that we make passionate love!"
She kissed him and said, "First let's hear you play that harmonica."

13. HULLNUMBER.COM
It appears that Hullnumber.com is up and running again. It's been down
for about two years. I logged our reunion in and I was sent an email
confirming that they have linked to our website.
It was a good site in the past. You may want to give it a try.
