MetroWest Dive Club’s Wrecks 2005 Symposium
The MetroWest Dive Club will be hosting its 13th Annual Wrecks Symposium,
April 2nd, 2005 at the Keefe Technical High School in Framingham, MA. This
year the show will focus on U-Boats and Submarines, with presentations to
include a talk about discovery of the UB-88 in California, exploration of a
rare 'electro-boot' U-2513 in Florida waters, history of U-boat activity off
North America, and others.
We are very excited to announce that John Chatterton and Ritchie Kohler will
be headlining the show this year to talk about their many U-Boat
explorations. These divers as well as popular TV personalities will join us
at the symposium to share their stories of exploration and discovery,
including recent find of the long-lost U-215 off the coast of Newfoundland,
visits to Hitler’s lost sub, the U-869, and search for the U-550, among
others.
The show will also feature a unique Equipment exhibit, as well as Artifact
and Photography exhibits, and a raffle with many prizes from major dive
manufactures and local dive businesses will be held.
MetroWest Dive Club cordially invites both divers and non-divers alike to
come and
socialize with our presenters, exhibitors, other divers, and guests. This
annual event is a unique opportunity to learn more about maritime history,
experience first-hand the
fascination that divers and non-divers have for these historic wrecks, and
of course talk about diving!!
Our website http://www.mwdc.org/wrecks/ contains more information about the
show, speaker bios, lists of exhibitors and prizes. Discounted admission
tickets are available through the website as well.
