Guys,
At this point I am starting to get very worried. I have heard no discussion on dues and a payment date for dues in the fall. Dues need to be set at about $400 and need to be due by the 25th of August if this is going to work.
So far the alumni have helped to raise about $3000 and I have another $3000 to put towards the debt with the school which stands at 15,000. That leaves us $9000 to collect. There is still $4100 owed to the chapter from last year which must be paid ASAP. That then leaves $4900 left to raise which we can take from dues. If 19 people pay $350 that gives you $6650. We use $4900 to pay off the school, $1500 to pay for insurance and still have $250 to put towards rush, and then I will kick in money for rush when I am down there helping you guys recruit.
I have spoken with Radford and Tony is going to be serving as your rush chair for the fall and their brothers have committed to helping in any way we can.
But there has got to be some resolution to the debt. If the debt is not paid off by August we will not be recognized during fall rush. If we are not recognized I will not be able to come down and help you recruit. If we don't have a fall pledge class we will be finished, closed for good. If we close the chapter still owing money to Tech we will NEVER be allowed to reopen until that debt is paid off and the HQ does not pay off chapter debts. That means we will never have a VA Tech chapter again. This is why our Gamma chapter at Ohio is still closed because they left owing the school money, and now we will never have that chapter back.
I don't want to lose this group, but I need help guys. Please come to a decision now. Either we do this all of the way or I need you guys to surrender your charter. Remember its just you now, the older guys have graduated and moved on. I need you guys to make the choice
