Subject: Important!!!

I wanted to bring you up to speed on something. Last week my daughter
Grace was diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Neuroblastoma. We
are currently living in Salem New Hampshire and commuting to Childrens
Hospital in Boston. This facility is the #1 treatment facility in the
world for this disease. To put it in perspective, Duke university
treats 3-4 cases a year.
Boston treats 50-60 per year. We are, however, here without any
approvals from out insurance company. We are fighting this tooth and
nail, but twice today we were "threatened" that treatment would not
commence without an authorization from out insurance company. Needless
to say, even if the insurance covers this, we will be facing medical
bills nearing the million dollar mark. The guys at the Fire Department
and my Uncle Jon are in the process of setting up a tax deductible
foundation to allow contributions to be made to help us with this
terrible dilemma. We are scared to death that the lack of money will
delay her care at some point in this process, but we are not willing to
go to a facility that is covered by our insurance company because they
are very ill equipped to deal with this disease. Nationwide this cancer
at this stage has a 25% survival rate. Here at Childrens in Boston,
they have a 50-60% survival rate. What would you do?

It would me a great deal to me if you could make whatever contacts you
need to help me any way you can. We are desparate to save our daughter.
Please visit www.graceoughtoncancerfoundation.org. The foundation is
still beign created, but it will be up an running soon.

Alec
