Important Water Operator Training Announcement
Water Treatment Course
Sponsored by
State of Vermont DEC, Water Supply Division
When: Fall Semester - September 1 - December 15, 2006 (No
class November 24). Friday mornings, 9:30am to 12:00pm (Sign-in at 9:15am).
Where: Vermont Technical College, Randolph - Langevin House,
Room 201.
Credit: 45 Training Contact Hours (TCH) - 3 College Credit
Hours will be awarded to those who pass the course (these are college
credits that may be used towards an Associate Degree from NHCTC.)
Cost: $504. FREE! No direct cost to students completing the
course for full credit. Students register by paying $45 for the textbook.
Due to a grant supplied by the VT DEC, you will only be charged for the cost
of the textbook. You will be responsible for reimbursing DEC for the full
tuition billed ($504) if you fail to complete the course.
Instructor: Sheldon Towne, NHCTC.
Registration: Complete the attached form and return it to VRWA with a check
payable to the State of Vermont for $45. Payment must be received by August
25, 2006. Late registrants will be charged an additional $20. Please
register early; space is limited to 15 attendees. Because of grant
restrictions, priority will be given to operators of systems serving less
than 3,300 persons. Other registrations will be accepted on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Objective: To provide students with the knowledge and skills needed
to operate and maintain water treatment facilities as efficiently and
effectively as possible. This course will also help students prepare for
state certification exams while exposing them to a college atmosphere.
Pre-registration is required for all training courses. To reserve your slot
for this course, submit payment and completed registration form (on reverse)
to the below address. Your cancelled check is confirmation of registration;
you will only be notified if the class is cancelled.

New Hampshire Community Technical College - Berlin, I will reimburse the
State of Vermont the full tuition of $504.00. Failure to do so may result in
withholding of my VT Drinking Water Operator Certification upon renewal.

* Exit 4 off I-89.
* From the exit ramp, turn onto Rt. 66 heading uphill, away from
McDonald's.
* Proceed 3/4 mile to intersection at top of hill (cars traveling up
the hill have right of way at the intersection).
* To reach the Langevin House Conference Center, bear left at
intersection, then take your first right onto Furnace Road.
* Continue straight 1/2 mile and turn right.
