Important Water Operator Training Announcement
Corrosion Management in Potable Waters: It's not just water chemistry
Date: December 6, 8:30am-3:30pm, St. Leo's Hall, Waterbury
Credit: 6 TCH
Cost: $60
Instructor: Mike Harrington, USA Bluebook
This workshop defines potable water corrosion, the benefits of determining
corrosion indexes, and examines water quality issues such as pH,
temperature, TDS, hardness, and alkalinity. You will learn that effective
corrosion control in potable water requires more than water chemistry
studies. Disinfection (type/residual), distribution piping, flushing
schedules, treatment process, coupon studies, and electrical grounding all
play a major role in total system corrosion. Typical corrosion control
practices will be reviewed, compared and contrasted.
