Planning for a Pandemic: How to Prepare Your System

EPA reports that within the next five years, a pandemic situation could
arise, the prime suspect being the avian flu. It is estimated that 40% of
the population will be affected. How does this impact your water system?
What measures can you take to prepare for a pandemic situation or other such
emergencies? We will discuss possibilities and preparations for a pandemic
situation, as well as other emergencies that could arise.
*Fees are waived for water operators of Vermont Community and NTNC systems
that serve a population of 3,300 or less. Make sure to include your WSID#
when you register. TNCs, wastewater systems, and systems serving over 3,300
are not eligible. If you have questions as to whether your system is
eligible, call 800-556-3792.
