If this is a group project I would love to devote whatever I can to this.
My tech know how is slight when it comes to the PCM stuff.
I have all the samples you could ever want.
The Ensoniq stuff seems like a very good match.
They were well ahead of the curve in terms of quality samples without a
whole lot of memory.
Please let me know.
If there is a Zadok Sam-1 available anywhere,
please contact me.
Thnaks,
Vertizon

Hi Ulrich,
I have also thought that making a Program & PCM card adapter
for the WS would be a great project. But you've actually
done it! I would be very interested to see any additional
information on how you've achieved this, so if you do find
time to write the project up on a web page, please let the
list know.
Cheers,

here, organized in 16bit words. This means that you have to chop your
waveforms into single cycles to be useful - that's a tiring process, I
have been through this with my Zadok Sam-1. The results are rewarding,
though.
For the WS SR you could try the "PCM card workshop" - try a search on
the web.
I am currently in the process of developing a PROG and PCM memory
expansion for the WS type of synths (that includes the Korg M1 and M3R
which use the same type of cards). By now I can read and write program
cards. Functionality is added slowly, as this is a hobby project and my
spare time is really limited. In the end, it will allow me to have the
device plug into the WS's PROG and PCM card slots and have a large
amount of "cards" readily available to select from. The WS will just
think it reads from / writes to an original data card.
Late this summer I will probably have the time to set up a web page with
additional information. So yes, there are still people around that think
that the WS is a, if not the, great synth!
