Thanks for the toolkits link, Merry! I had some, but not all, of these
in my Favorites. All info is helpful in developing style standards for
one's own company.

In my last 2 companies, I've developed our company stylebooks, based
primarily on The Associated Press Stylebook, Microsoft's Manual of Style
for Technical Publications and Wired Style. These are terrific sources
in developing your own version for your company.

Hi, Nancy,

Welcome to our select group!

For style guides, please go to
http://www.sciencesitescom.com/toolkit.html--I have a big selection of
them
in the Web Editors Toolkit section on my site.

You'll find there's no Strunk&White for the web-i.e. no style guide's
become
"the Book" yet. It varies per publication. Associated Press, for
instance,
is adding web components to their standard guide, and folks who follow
AP
may decide to use their guidelines.

That said, the best style guide is, (regretfully, as it's a ton of
work!)
the one you and your organization create for yourselves. No two sites
will
have the same style issues. So, you might consider using one of the
ones
I've got on my list to start with, and perhaps using it to build one
yourself.

Without knowing details, I may not be correct here-but good luck!

Cheers,

Merry Bruns
