Keep our NHS public
Launch statement
Preliminary meetings to launch a new campaign to defend the NHS against cuts
and privatisation have drawn the involvement of an increasing number of
doctors, campaigners, academics, MPs and health unions.
Further work is being done to establish a core of signatories who will
formally announce the new campaign.
Additional information will appear on this site as soon as final texts are
agreed, but in the meantime here is a final draft of the launch statement
which enjoyed considerable support and which summarises many of the issues
of the campaign.
If you agree with the sentiments of this statement and want to lend your
support to the campaign, please sign up online.
We will be expanding and developing this site, and aim to keep it up to date
and reflecting the rapidly-developing situation in the NHS.
