Presumably if it remains in active for a few months topica will simply
delete it anyway. A kind of virtual euthanasia.

That's right. I can't technically close it anyway. In the early days I tried
unsuccessfully to turn it into a co-operative. Some of the owners have
disappeared, but not formally left the group. So it will continue until
Topica close it down.
