The "official" Saturday ride start during most of the year is 9:00 (8:00 starting Memorial Day weekend, going back to 9 on Labor Day weekend). But we seldom get rolling before 9:30, so if you get there at 9 you'll have a bit of a wait. There's no official Sunday WHIRL ride. Hope to see you at the ride!
In response to Kathy's message, we've had a small group of intrepid (insane?) riders coming out every weekend, cold or warm. There are usually 3 or 4 of us on cold days, but we've had as few as 2 and as many as 7. That warm day a couple weeks ago was a real pleasure after the months of brrrrrr.
In response to Terry's message, it's always time to ride outside! Personally, I hate riding indoors so much that I'll risk frostbitten toes to ride out in the cold. Haven't lost any toes yet. It takes some time to figure out what clothing works for you in the cold, but once you figure it out cold weather riding can be a lot of fun (even if, like me, you prefer hot and sweaty to cold and shivery).
It really depends on your tolerance for cold (or cool) weather. You just have to try riding outdoors and determine your own limits.

New recumbent rider, and new
to the list. Just to clarify -- are the WHIRL rides at 9am on
Saturdays? Or also Sundays?
Thanks.

Yesterday, at about 18:45, Terry Dankel averred:
:While
my Catrike 700 is still "leashed" to my 1-Up trainer, I was
:wondering about
folks thoughts about when it's time to start riding
:outside again?
Thoughts? My best to y'all.
I was thinking about the WHIRL ride
last Saturday when the weather was so
nice and wondering how many folks had
come out for it.
Has anyone been on the WHIRL rides these last
couple of weeks who could
give a little report?
