I want to say how shocked I am at Bob Jordan's passing. I know Bob had a recurrence of cancer, but I thought he was doing okay. I hadn't seen him lately, though, so no personal gauge for well-being. I last saw him in the summer of 2007, to get a photo CD from him. All of those photos made it on the 2008 WW CD-ROM. Makes me very sad for his wife (Mary) and daughter (Clara).
If there ever was a more friendly, welcoming guy for mountain biking, I don't know who it is (well, Robert G. gives him a run for the money). I was always (reasonably!) well-assured that if Bob was along that it wouldn't be a total slog, plus with his positive attitude, even the bad stuff didn't seem too bad.
I do plan to attend his funeral on Friday. We've lost a strong, spirited man, for sure.
