Subject: Summer PT job for youth: organizer position open at NY
Construction Workers United
To:
New York Construction Workers United (NYCWU) has two part-time
positions for organizers to help with broad outreach work over the
summer. We are looking for people who can start immediately. NYCWU is
a recently formed group that seeks to organize construction workers,
predominantly immigrant and informal workers, against the injustices
committed against them in the workplace. New York Construction
Workers United is a very open project, and we hope to draw in
construction workers to be a part of the work team and the
leadership. The positions pay $10 per hour, and will be ten hours per
week for ten weeks, with some possibility to continue after the
summer if funding is available. The person would work closely with
the NYCWU work team to develop an outreach plan.
We are seeking youth organizer between the ages of 15- 23 with some
organizing experience and who speak multiple languages.
