What do you believe?  Dawn Fields

Tara sat stunned. She couldn’t believe what she just heard. She felt as
if her entire body shrunk to the size of an acorn. She felt so tiny and
small.

This simply could not be happening to her. She was young. She was
beautiful. She just graduated from college and just received her dream
career. Life was moving forward and she was moving up right along with
it.

THIS COULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO ME, she screamed on the inside.

When she left out of the doctor’s office and made her way to the subway,
she felt as if she was in a haze. She couldn’t focus her thoughts.
There just simply is no way this could possibly be right. She always ate
right and exercised. She didn’t smoke or do anything to abuse her body.
Occasionally she had a drink or two but she was far from a drinker. How
could she possibly have breast cancer? She couldn’t even think of
anybody in her family who had it.

The subway ride home seemed like an eternity. She couldn’t make her mind
stop thinking about it. All she kept seeing in her minds eye was the
doctor coming in the room, holding his little chart. She knew something
was wrong because it appeared he was not able to look her in the eye.

“Tara, I am sorry to inform you, but your test results came back. You
have breast CANCER.”

It felt like he spit the word CANCER in her face.

That is about all she could remember him saying. After that, she just
sort of went blank and tuned out.

THIS CAN NOT BE HAPPENING TO ME, is all she keeps screaming on the
inside.

She is jolted back to reality as the subway makes a stop on 96th Street.
As the subway doors opened, her eyes are drawn to a billboard with the
word “FAITH’ written across it. All of a sudden, it was like a cloud was
lifted from her heart. FAITH. She doesn’t even know what the billboard
was advertising but she saw the word FAITH and that was all she needed.

That’s it. That’s a sign. I don’t have to accept this bad report. I can
have faith and believe that I am already healed, just as the word says I
am.

That was all Tara needed. All the confusion, hurt, and fogginess she
felt a few minutes ago had suddenly disappeared. She was going to make
up her mind that she was going to reverse this situation. She was not
going to allow this bad report to get the best of her, she would get the
best of it. She was going to be cancer free.

When Tara arrived home, immediately she made a list of all the things
she wanted to do with her life—sort of her “Bucket List.” She wrote out
long term goals and short term goals. She wrote out a list of activities
that she was going to do each day to heal her body.

The first thing she would do each morning was wake up and thank God for
her day. She would say out loud, “I feel great. I am well and cancer
free.” She would pray and thank God for her health. She would say, “Lord
your word says by your stripes I was healed, therefore I am healed.
Thank you, Jesus, I am cancer free forever.”

The next thing she will do is spend 15 minutes each morning, and 15
minutes each night, visualizing her beating this cancer. Visualizing
herself accomplishing all the things she wrote on her Bucket List.

Tara knew this would be a process, but she was ready for the challenge.
She was going to be healed from cancer. She knew it will of her heart.

That was in 2006. It’s two years later and Tara has completely beat
cancer and have completed 78% of the things she listed on her Bucket
List.

We all have the power to overcome whatever obstacles that may come our
way. That power is called FAITH. The choice is yours. You can either
accept the bad report or you can accept the word. It works the same way
for you as it did for Tara. Tara choose to believe the word, and because
she believed, she received.

What do you believe?

Have a blessed and wonderful week.
